Resolved Windows does not remember audio mixer setting

    I have an audio device that Windows mixer will not remember settings for. Every time it starts, it defaults to full volume. I want it to start either muted or with the volume turned down but Windows does not keep this setting. How can I fix this?

    Since I have had no answer to this I am going to retire it. I fixed the issue with a workaround by running the device with AutoHotKey and having it mute the mixer setting. Another inelegant Windows solution.
