I need to install the Windows Desktop Update to a Win 95 computer that does not have internet access. Apparently, this update became available for Windows 95 about the same time Internet Explorer version 4 became available, and a link to the Microsoft web site was used to initiate a download and installation of the update. However, this download/install is no longer available from the Microsoft web site, but even it it was, the computer I have at work has no internet access. This update gave Windows the ability to create custom toolbars on the Desktop and I would like to be able to do that.
Is there any way I can obtain and install the Windows Desktop Update offline?

You can get it here . Number 15 in the list. Be sure to read the readme file. Has info pertaining to installing it. It'll fit on a floppy disk so you can use that to install it on the other computer.

One more thing. You have to have IE 5 installed in order to use it.

MS Win95 page I tested the Service Pack 1 download and it worked fine.
