    Hi,

I hope you can view my system details in my profile? I have ecently had a virus removed in the malware section, great service. I tried to stat windows defender but it comes up with an error code 0x800106ba does anyone know what to do in this case. I initially thought it was an MSI file extension problem, but have merged the MSI file that was missing with the registery, but still no joy inj starting defender? Any thoughts please.

    Regards

    Andrew

    Thanks Neil,

Many thanks I tried this, all three steps, only to find out that windows defender will not work with Microsoft Security Essentials! seems every day is a learning day. Thanks for your prompt response, much appreciated.

    Regards

MSE disables Windows Defender, as do a lot of other security software.
