What is the difference between Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials? Should I run both?

    You're welcome.

I will add that I switched from AVG free to Security Essentials and I'm happy with it. It's not a resource hog, it updates smoothly...and quietly...and starts ups/shut downs are much faster.

Exactly what I did, went from AVG free to MSE.
I had some questions about malware, trojans etc. Now I don't.
