Windows cannot remove virtual DVD drive

I've been having a problem removing a "Generic Stealth DVD SCSI CdRom Device ". It was created when I was using Daemon tools emulation but the program was not uninstalled properly and the drive got left behind. I have tried re-installing Daemon and then uninstalling again but to no avail. Using Device Manager, the best I can do is disable the drive but when I try to uninstall it, it reappears after I next reboot. Is there anyway of getting rid of this virtual drive?

Try re-installing Daemon tools. In the 'options' there is a setting for how many virtual drives to have, set it to zero (0). You might have to reboot. Then check to see if the drive is gone, then uninstall the program. Sorry I can't be more specific but I don't have Daemon tools installed on this computer.

I have tried re-installing Daemon tools but it does not recognize the old drive and so you can't remove it.

I will move to the Daemon tools forum.
