Windows BBS-equivalent for Macs?

Hi. I'm cooperating with a friend on the other side of the world (AUS) on an editorial project, and we're running into a couple of problems because he uses Mac and I'm on PC. I've been able to solve everything at my end, in one instance thanks to the great guys at Windows BBS, but there are some issues I can't help him with. (An example: how to insert a letter with umlaut like ü into a text - apparently the alt-nnnn method doesn't seem to work on a Mac.)

Does any reader know of a BBS similar to ours for Mac users? (I know it won't be quite as good of course , but at least similar...)

Try this for the time being (sorry don't have a MAC running at the moment)

I think you just hold the Options key (is MAC's Alt key) down and type / press the "u" key then let go of the Options key and press the "u" key again which then does the umlaut ü for you.

Super - thanks much. Not to sound ungrateful, but in fact I'd already googled some myself and got a similar result.

What I see now I didn't make clear is that I was hoping to get a specific recommendation from someone who uses both systems and could recommend a particularly reliable, helpful site like this one.

Still, I've got plenty to go on with here. Grateful for your advice.

I'm currently in maintenance mode on PC workstations and do not have a MAC running. When I complete the maintenance and start a MAC, I will look at what forums I use and PM the result to you.

Does the key sequence work ?
- I had to phone a Colleague to test it and it worked on his Power MAC.
