I just recently installed a wireless adapter(dlink) for internet access via one of my usb ports.I'm using windows 98se.The problem I'm trying to solve with dlink tech support is that after getting off the internet(for approx.15-20min) my connection signal goes away and if I want to get back on the internet I first have to click on the dlink icon and hit refresh to establish a signal again then I can proceed to click on the internet icon. Now I am noticing if I'm on the internet for say more than 15 min. my signal goes away .Dlink tech support has suggested I have something going on with my usb setup within 98se.Thus is there some timing issue with usb?Not sure what to look for within the usb settings.thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi,

Go to Device Manager and at the bottom of the list will be USB controllers. Click the "+" and post back here with the list.

You probably need to find and download and install the latest USB controller drivers for your motherboard.

Matt, thanks for your help.Working with a number of dlink techs I finally got one who knew how to solve my problem. He did have me go into device manager and disable my dialup adapter. The biggest problem though was with my wireless router configuration. He had me tune some settings and now my connection is there all the time.
