    I do not seem to have network neighborhood on my 98.
    I do not have TweakUI in control panel either.
    where is it?
    How do I resurrect it?

    I don't know how to setup a network card. I know that this 98 computer has internet access and that the xp computer can access the shared files on the 98 computer and vice versa. I can access the xp computers by typing in their names in the RUN box and I have placed a shortcut on the desktop. Perhaps I don't need network neighborhood after all.

    I can access the 98 CANON printer from the xp computer but i can't access the xp HP printer from the 98 computer why? The 98 computer asks me to install a new printer and so I did install the software CD for my HP printer but to no avail. I have checked the 'share this printer' on all computers. now i'm stumped. thanks for your help.

    Check these Keys in the registry (found on left side of Regedit.Exe);

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    Look for this Value on the right, this can be under one of the two above Keys.

    NoNetHood

    If there is a "0x00000001 (1)" next to it, Modify to a zero.

    This is what TweakUi puts into the registry when hiding Network Neighborhood.

    the words 'NoNetHood do not appear in either of the suggestions given.

    CURRENT_USER brings me to the Explorer folder but 'NoNetHood 'does not appear.'Nodrivetype AutoRun' is there instead

    In LOCAL_MACHINE in the 'policies there is no 'explorer' there is 'Ext, NoEnum, Ratings, and system.
    thanks for the help, what next?
    Any suggestions about the other problem I mentioned?
    thanks.
