windows 98 freecell

    Cannot play windows 98 freecell. It just hangs. Can anyone tell me why?

    Hi Ovenmitt - Welcome to the Board :)

    Try removing Games through Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows components (or similar - I am on XP at the moment) and re-install them. Probably a corrupted file somewhere.

    Have you installed any new software lately? That "unending hourglass when starting Freecell" is a software conflict. On my 98 system, it was with Sygate's free firewall. With the right combination of which program I started first, I could get both to run.

    Others have reported this problem with a wide assortment of software, including popup stoppers.

    Miz is right. It's been my experience when there's a problem with any of the windows games it's usually a conflict with some other software. One version of Intellipoint mouse drivers was a good one for this. Don't remember which one however.
