Have restored all my files with the exception of the DOC file. I have tried using Start>Settings>Folder Options>File Types>Registered File Types. I was able to restore the paths for my .txt, notepad, .jpeg, publisher, and .gif files located on my desktop. I am using WordPad to create my file, and then have the option to save to plain text, or word 6.0. I have saved files to both. I can create a file and open it, as long as it remains on the desktop. When I place it in a file, then when I try to open it, I get a message that windows cannot find the path.
Nor can I open any of the other .doc files on my desktop. The routing I have now is: C:\Program Files\Accessories\WordPad.exe
I hope this is enough information for someone to attempt to give me a hand on this one. You help is welcome, Thanks

Be sure that "Open" is listed as an action in the file association dialog for the .doc file type. You may want to make it the default action.
