One problem: there are few sorts of boot disks - for Winds 95 & 95a, 95b(OSR2) I have Windows 95 'PanEuropean Edition', is seems. What boot disk I need for? Also, I find some websites offer boot disks marked for pc with cdrom.

The difference between 95, 95a and 95b is the file system. 95a uses the FAT16 system, where you are limited to 2 gb hard drives or partitions. 95b uses the FAT32 file system, like the file system used by 98, ME, and can be used by XP. It will let you use drives and partition larger than 2 gb, M$ claims up to 2 tb. Drives aren't this large yet, guess we'll have to wait to prove this claim.
How does this affect you? Normally, not at all, except if you use Fdisk to create and delete partitions. When you start Fdisk with a 95b or 98 floppy, you are asked the question to enable large disk support. If you type a N, you get FAT16, type a Y and you get FAT32.
If all you want the boot floppy for is to install windows, get the 98SE OEM file. It has better support for CD rom's, and has a small suite of dos diagnostic tools normally not available with a 95. You can install 95 with it.
You will need the 95 floppy if you need to transfer system files, as you do not want 98 system files on a drive with 95 installed.

Regardless of whether you have the US vs. PanEuropean edition, you can check your OS version number by R-clicking on My Computer, and selecting 'Properties'. If the OS version number shows:

4.03.1212-1214 or above, your OS will support FAT32. This is equivalent to Win95 (b) as stated by Mark.

Further details can be read here:
