No matter what version (XP, Vista or 7), Microsoft will be offering a $40 upgrade through Jan 31 2013.

    thanks,
    (1) I not found that $40 offer web link, can you tell me where,

    (2) but I found this offer?
Buy a Windows 7 PC and get Windows 8 Pro for $14.99.
    Buy a Windows 7 PC between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013. *
(You can even use our PC Selector to help you choose.)
    is it difference?

    (3) I want to buy Windows 7 BOX SET version, but I known W7 (Ultimate, Pro, Home Prem, Home Basic) version.
is it that version, same use $OfferPrice upgrade to W8 (Pro) Version?

    (4) $14.99 is it OEM license (no media cd); $40 same, no media cd, but is it BOX set license?

    thanks!

    1. From the Windows Blog
    2. Not sure what you mean by "Windows 7 BOX SET "? You mean a retail box? You can get any Windows 7 version in a retail box.
    3. The $40 offer is for a downloadable version, not a retail box. If you want a packaged DVD version of the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro it will be available for $69.99 during this promotion.

thans, but I not understand that (Upgrade to Windows 8) source is it :
    (a) Success Install W7, after complete. setup W8 again? or
....... DIRECT setup W8, no any windows (xp/W7) was installed (NEW Harddisk)?

    (b) need this offer license term, is it accept TWO computer installed.
    .....PC1 can install W7, and PC2 can install W8?

    thanks!

a). I can't answer that with certainty. Good chance you need to have Windows 7 installed.

    b) NO, that is not legal. ONE Windows license only covers one installation/machine. the upgrade replaces the previous license.
