I've been using Yahoo.com as a homepage forever. After upgrading to windows 8.1 and IE 11, the HTTP links are not functioning properly on that page. For instance the ribbon on the page displays items 1-5 but no other. I have been able to correct this temporarily by right clicking on an HTTP link, selection properties and then OK. The page continues to work OK in other browsers. I don't know if this is a Yahoo or Windows problem or both, Any suggestions for a permanent Fix?

I have also seem some issues with IE11 page formatting/rendering issues. I suspect they will be worked out soon and more and more users encounter them. You might see if compatibility view settings affect it.

Bill, you are correct. Yahoo fixed the HTTP problem except now videos won't play !! I assume that they will get it all together eventually.

I note on some forums when entering text in reply text boxes, the text does not wrap. It just runs in a long line out of view until you hit return. Fortunately, not a problem here. On another forum I visit, when entering text if you double-click a word, it does not highlight the whole word like it should so you can move or delete. But again, not a problem here.

That said, all in all, 8.1 seems okay.

    not worth the effort

IE 11 so buggy that until it is reliable and works with sites such as yahoo.com without using comparability settings, l'm going to use Google Chrome as my default browser.

After running CCleaner to delete all my temporary Internet files and cookies, I am not having any problems anymore, except with one site that is currently going through a software update. And I visit many sites daily.

I can access my banks, credit unions, medical insurance - and yahoo.com using IE11 with no problems.

I just watched a several SNL videos on yahoo.com with no problems too.

Sometimes, I think Yahoo itself is buggy.

Just ran CC cleaner and still cannot play videos on Yahoo.com except in compatible mode. Get the Message "You Need Adobe Flash to Play this Video ". Videos play on other sites, so it probably is a Yahoo.com issue.

It is why I stopped using yahoo mail and yahoo search a long time ago.

You do need Adobe Flash, but unlike previous versions, it is integrated into W8. See this.
