Mcrosoft have posted quite a lot of themes for Windows 7. Have you seen them? 150+ in total: Windows 7 themes

Yeah, if the wife downloads any more, I will have to get a bigger HD to hold all of them. LOL

I just don't get themes. If I want something pretty to look at then I'll look out the window or glance at the pictures on my desk. My desktop is plain black with only weather (sometimes I can't be bothered looking out the window;)) and clock gadgets running.

A waste of resources if you ask me but each to their own.

I agree on the waste of resources. Most of the time, she will just put a picture of one of the grandkids there or some pretty scene she has found.

I agree with wildfire and MrBill, a potential waste of resources. As MrBill says, use a pretty or interesting picture you have taken. My current desktop picture attached. Taken about two weeks ago from the back porch.

I used to be of the school that resources were there to be hoarded, used only when unavoidable.

It occurred to me that resources don't disappear forever once used. They will be available again and, more importantly, they are there to be used.

That led me to conclude that if resources are being used for something you like, they're not being wasted.

So, since my current system has plenty of resources, I use up a few with some eye candy. ;)

    :)

Sounds good to me. I don't use 'em, but I could spare the limited resources they 'use'.

Problem is with me, I always have something open so I don't see the desktop. The only time I see it is if I reboot or loose power and the machine reboots. I never shut the PC off and keep WLM open 7/24/365 and every four years it is 7/24/366.
