Hello, I recently installed Windows 7 , but have had a problem with the hhd, now when i try and boot up, the pc is trying to boot into XP, whilst i do not have an issue with reformatting and reinstalling, however there is data (Outlook PST File) that i really do not want to loose, any sugestions on how I can resolve this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You'll have to explain what you did, your PC wouldn't try booting in XP if you upgraded Windows 7 successfully.

I agree, Windows 7 should have overwritten Windows XP unless you put it in a new partition.

When you say "it is trying to boot into XP" what exactly happens and where does it end up.
