    How can I make the icons on the right side of the start menu smaller without changing the the font size in windows?

    I only see an option to use small icons for the left side of the start menu.

    If we are talking about the same thing, mine are small enough now. About the size of the description. Always been that way.

    I am talking about the right side of the start menu, not the left.

    Can you do a screen shot? None of my Icons are on the RIGHT side. They are all on the left when you open up a new item. I thought that you were talking about when you go to a different item and it moves to a window to the right. I must be confused.

    If however you mean the Icons on the task bar...

    Right click on an empty area, ensure Lock the taskbar is not selected and choose Properties.

    If not already highlighted select the taskbar tab and then select Use small icons.

    The Right side

    Documents, Pictures, Music, Downloads, Recent Items, and so on are listed on the right.

    Must be a Theme you're using sniper, those items have no icons on my system :confused: apart from at the top when highlighted which to be honest shouldn't really be an issue.

    When speaking about computers, (or cell phones, etc.), an "icon" would mean a graphic symbol, (a pictorial representation), that usually suggests the purpose of an available function.

    Internet Explorer's familiar big blue 'e' would be one example of an "icon ".

    The right side of Windows XP's Start menu has icons, Windows 7 does not.

    Why are they so large and spread out unlike the left side?

    Hmmm... That's really a question for Microsoft's Windows 7 design team.

    Maybe it was to make it easier to read?

    How about easier to select on a touch screen?

    <-shrug-> :)
