Microsoft Blocks All Windows 7 Security Updates Unless You Have Antivirus
I don't use W7 myself but this may help users who find they have a problem with updates.

 

Maybe not related, but I am not detecting any Windows 7 updates at all since Wednesday. Tuesday, both of my 7 machines received notice of impending updates for Office, malware, and the operating system. I installed updates for Office and malware, but the next day, the Windows updates were not there to download.

A manual scan said all was well, but Belarc Advisor said otherwise. Belarc provided the download links, and I got the Windows 7 updates installed, but I'm still scratching my head on why Windows Update lost track of them. Very unusual.
