    Windows 7 & scanner problem.

    HP MFD type CM1015.
    Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit.

Printer working OK but am unable to scan.
No drivers available from HP (surprise, surprise); is anyone aware of a workaround or, perhaps, drivers intended for some other MFD that might work?

    Many thanks

Many thanks for response, but ...
These drivers are printer only and do not provide scanning function.
    Regards

Are you sure that they do not have the scanner drivers included? I would find it hard to believe that HP would issue drivers that did not provide full function for a MFD.

The OP in this thread reported that the printer was working and I can omly assume that included the scanner option ....

Have you tried the Vista x64 software package ....

Yes, quite certain that universal print drivers do not run scanner - I am already using these drivers to get printer to work.

Vista x64 package would not even load on Win7. For info only I was (once upon a time) able to get things working by browsing to Windows.Old/System 32 to pick up the Vista 64 drivers that had been in use until 'upgrade' to Win7 beta, but those files are no longer available on my machine.

    tac1,

I won't pretend to know much about Windows 7, but I can tell you that I was able to get my old HP ScanJet 4850 working in Windows 7 by using the Vista software version. Like you, 7 would only give me the basic driver. I found the Vista software on the HP support forums and downloaded it. I right clicked on the setup icon and went into Troubleshoot Compatibility. The software loaded without a hitch in Vista. I can use all the functions of scanner again on my Windows 7 system. Have you tried that?

    Mike
