I was referred by broni to open a new thread from this:
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/malware-v...-startup-usage-suspected-virus-infection.html

After removing infections, the cold boot time is still very ridiculous and very unacceptable. It took about 1 minute for the windows logo to appear (at the first minute the boot screen only shows 'Starting Windows'), then 5-10 minutes to get into the welcome screen. Then from welcome screen to the desktop screen then took about 3 minutes. It means that I have to wait for 15 minutes to get everything done?!

Its too funny because my minimum requirements is there.

What is the reason of causing this and is there any way to solve this problem?

Upgrade to at least 4GB of RAM, spwap out that 5400 RPM hard drive for a SSD and reinstall Windows. With a decent SSD and that Intel(R) Pentium(R) P6300 2.27GHz CPU, boot time should be about a minute.

Sounds like you have a lot of programs that are starting at startup.

Hi scgoh123, My brother has a similar model Toshiba and what fixed his was an update to MAX RAM GB and use Recovery to reinstall W7 32bit.
I advised him to save up and replace the Toshiba as Reviews on them are not glowing for the reasons the Doc suggested.
The HD is SLOW and the RAM is minimum and it's only 32bit OS. A newer Laptop with 64bit is the answer.
The reason I suggest this is that Matched RAM could set you back $150.00 and an SSD the same. Might as well put $300.00 in to a new Laptop.Neil.

5400 RPM is rather slow for today's operating systems.

Looks like you'll need a hardware upgrade to fix your speed issue.

MrBill, how do i identify whether what programs should i disable during startup? because there are only 10 programs are set to start up.

Are you sure it's those 10 programs that are causing the long delay?

To find out, what's the difference in elapsed time from booting up in Safe Mode with Networking and Normally?

Test 1) - Power down, wait a couple of seconds, power it back on and start tapping the [F8] key. When it gets to the menu select Safe Mode with Networking, look a clock or watch with a second hand and them press the [Enter] key. As soon as the computer gets to the Desktop with the Taskbar, jot down how long it took.

Test 2) - Power down, wait a couple of seconds, power it back on and start tapping the [F8] key. When it gets to the menu select Start Windows Normally, look a clock or watch with a second hand and them press the [Enter] key. As soon as the computer gets to the Desktop with the Taskbar, jot down how long it took.

The first elapsed time is the absolute bare minimum amount of time it's going to take that computer to get Windows booted up.

The difference between the two elapsed times is how long it is taking your 10 startup programs to load.

    --

As a comparison, the difference here on this computer is a mere one to two seconds. Safe Mode with Networking takes 11-12 seconds and Normal mode takes 12-13.

List them here and we can tell you if they require to run on startup.

SpywareDr: with safe mode, it took about 5 minutes and it takes a very long time to load CLASSPNP.SYS
however it took 8 minutes for normal boot.

Now my laptop behaves abnormally. When it boots into the desktop, it pops out BSOD and the laptop restarts. After restarting, the monitor shows only a pitch black screen. I have to do a force restart.

I have ran Windows Memory diagnostics, chkdsk and sfc /scannow but they found nothing abnormal.

so my main suspect is :HDD and cooling problem

Download and burn the Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) to CD. It has Hard Drive diagnostics (plus much more). Simply boot your computer from this CD and select the utility you want to run.

Note: If you aren't sure who made the hard drive in your computer, use Seagate's Seatools as it will work with most any make of drive.

The following instructions may prove helpful for burning the UBCD .iso file to disc: How can I write (burn) ISO files to CD or DVD?

    --

To check the temps, download, install and run HWMonitor.

    Notes:
    1. Click the "1.25 setup, english" over on the right of that page to start the download.

    2. When setting up the installation, make sure you deselect (uncheck) all of the items that you probably do not want installed, such as an Ask Toolbar etc.

Follow these instructions to post a Dump Data Log.

If you do not have a dump, ensure that your machine is configured to write out a dump by following the directions from microsoft

UPDATE: My dad sent my laptop to a repair centre. The technician said that my HDD causes the problem. My hypothesis is correct. Got the HDD replaced.

Did you choose a solid state drive or the mechanical type?

i WANTED a SSD, but it's too expensive for me (approx 250USD for a 250GB drive!)

due to a tight budget, i had no choice but to use the mechanical ones

Newer SATA drives are very fast compared to your old drive, and no doubt your new drive will run at 7200 RPM too. New hardware can make an older computer feel like a new one.
