I have an Acer laptop with Windows 7 32 bit Professional but want to get it to 64 bit (the procesor and memory support it)
I happen to own a Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade with both 32 and 64 bit versions Windows 7 doesn't appear to accept it (Should it?)
Assuming the answere is no What is my least costy option to get 64 bit Professional given I already own the 32 bit... and if I buy a 64 bit (OEM version from Tiger Direct) will it be recognized and work?

You can't upgrade. You must do a clean fresh install when going from 32bit to 64.

    Thanks Steve
I'm hoping that Laplinks Windows 7 upgrade assistant might put everything into its moving van file and allow me to bring back my data AND PROGRAMS just as it does for XP to 7 etc etc
IE: run laplink first and store on a duiffent derive, do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and then use La0link to reinstall programs & data from the moving van file that was stored on a networkeed computer drive
