Does anyone know if the 32bit version of windows 7 is going to have the 4GB memory limit that previous installs have? Installed onto Dell Latitude D630 with no issues. LOVE the new control panel. I think windows has finally done something real good here, as long as they write drivers like a mother. Although all the vista driver are supposed to work...

Keep in mind that companies like ATI/Nviada/HP are the comapines responsible for creating drivers;)

This is true, I minced my words, anyone know about the mem limit? I just assume 32 bit means 4GB limit...

ANY 32-bit OS will be 3.x GB. The x will be determined by factors such as the size of your video memory.

yeah, that much i figured. Wonder if support for Windows 7 64 bit will be better than all previous OS's. Probably not, 98 percent of the people dont care about 64 bit, especially with the invention of readyboost.

There's lots of support building for 64-bit. I've been running Vista x64 on my laptop for 2 years now.

Microsoft says readyboost doesn't do anything for people with over 512mb of memory anyway, for me it only slowed things down, no matter how much memory.

I have seen tests of people with 2GB of memory and Readyboost has improved performance slightly, But i was more or less referring to the marketing rather than actual specs.

I use my computer mostly for games and games require a lot of paging, flash drives are not good for copying quickly.

I've tried RB with Vista & Win7 (both x64 & x86) and with 2GB never noticed any difference during normal usage.

I don't know, and to be honest it doesn't interest me at all. Any Windows 7 machine should have at least 2GB memory (being a new machine, since it will be the end of 2009 the earliest when Win7 ships), and like I said, during everyday use you don't notice any difference when having 1GB or more RAM.
