    Hi,
Usually I can fix my own problems but this one has me reaching for the sky.

AI have a Toshiba A665 Satellite Laptop with Windows 7. Approx two weeks old and did not do anything to cause it to lose the wireless connection but it has and after doing several things such as:
    (1) Having the built in features that come with Windows 7 not being able to give a definitive problem just the option to explore other methods and,
    (2) System restore, which did not fix it along with,
    (3) Netsh int ip reset reset.log
    (4) Netsh winsock reset catalog
    (5) Plus, I tried ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew

All of them was not able to assist me in figuring out or provide some information how something can just disappear that had been working fine for two weeks. For some unknown reason it's just not seeing the router (verizon model 7500). However, when I hard wire it to the router all works fine...Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I LOST MY CONNECTION THIS AFTERNOON AS WELL BUT IT IS NOW BACK.

Also you could try hitting the CTRL key and F2 together and see if this works it worked for me last year when I had same trouble. Good luck!!

Tried it and guess I was not as fortunate...It was still worth a try.

It may seem obvious but have you tried turning the equipment off then back on?

If not, switch off and unplug the computer and router. Wait for a few minutes, plug in the router and when the lights stabilise, start the computer.

MG if your Toshiba is anything like mine (Satellite C660) try FN +F8, you should see whether Wireless is On or Off (If off Press F8 again whilst still holding the FN key).

Yes I did and thank you for that reminder.

    Attn: Wildfire
I did exactly as you mentioned and I get the following message:
"The wireless communication is disabled. Please turn on the wireless
    communication switch "...

Not sure what switch they are talking about because I don't have one of those sliders on mine.

At the top of my keyboard it is showing the antenna and it is illuminated.

I also looked into the Toshiba Laptop HWSetup and when I finally found that, nothing is there giving me the option to enable the wireless connection which is where I thought from my search on Google that is where indeed I would. So as it stands now, still not operable.

Since this is a new laptop would it be easy for you to go back to the supplier and ask for assistance?

It's beginning to sound like a hardware failure to me, but others may have better news.

Must ask - is it illuminated in the right colour? I say this because on my HP ProBook the colour changes when the wireless is switched off.

I guess you've checked in the manual from where I got the info in my last post.

    Hi Wildfire,
All the items at the top are white...On the bottom right side of the laptop the attenna there is not illuminated as it usually is when the wireless connection is up and working properly (and that's usually an amber color when it is working).

    Good news...

I finally after a very exhausting google search found the fix...Apparently, at the top where the wireless antenna is, I must of in my attempts to clean my keyboard pressed on it and that shut it off...When I read that, I pressed on it again and wah-lah...All is good now.

Thank you everyone who tried to assit me, your help as always greatly apprciated.
