    Hey Everyone,

I tried searching for some solutions to this but either I did not find them or don't understand them.

I have a win xp pro client that i would like to connect to a win 2k server in a similar fashion to the way I can connect to other xp computers using mstsc (remote desktop connection) The network is not setup as a domain if that helps.

If anyone has some easy instructions on how to configure the server to allow the remote desktop connection that would be great. Or if yo know of a good site with easy to follow instructions that would be great too.

    Thanks

    1) Right-click "My Computer" and choose "Properties" usually at the bottom.
    2) Change to the "Remote" Tab
    3) Check the box next to "Enable Remote Desktop on this computer "

At this location you can also configure which users should have access via remote. The admin has access by default.

Make sure your firewall doesn't block incoming connections on TCP Port 3389 on the IP you're connecting on.

    Hey Chris,

I am aware that the direction you gave me activates remote desktop on the win xp machine but I need to do the same thing on the win2k server so that the xp can start a remote desktop connection on the server. Anyone know how to do that ??

Under control panel, add or remove programs, add components, install terminal services...in remote admin mode.. That will allow up to two people to connect to the server at any one time.

Hmmm I do it this way on my Servers too though. Maybe there's a component you have to install like the post above says which I have already.
