Windows 2000 Pro Srvc Pk 4 auto update

    Recently, windows update shows new update ready to install, every few minutes. I click install - and it shuts down for a short period and repeats again. I have begun to click install and then cancel and it shows KB831167 aborted each time. Why ? ? ? ?

    windows hotfix will not install

    I had that problem also until MS put a fix out there. You should look for it. I am sorry but do not remember the number or name.
