It works the same on 2K pro & server as it would on XP-pro (or on XP-home if you logged on in safe mode as Administrator). She will need to be logged on with an account that has admin rights. By default at install time there should have been an Administrator account created and that will do the job or possibly her account will as well.

    - Right-click the My Computer icon and then left-click Manage.
    - Open Users & Groups then double-click open Users
    - Right-click on the account in question, left-click on Set Password, and put in a password.

Note to your friend: While she is in that section she can create a new account and I'd suggest making one for the youngster to use. Create it, password it, and then in the Groups section, make sure it is a member of Users and nothing else. Also make sure the Guest account is disabled.

No problem and glad to offer some help.

If your friend gets stuck, suggest that she sign up and post about the problems or any additional questions. Much easier to work out the issues that way than if you have to relay.
