    Hi all,

    Although I new a lot about Win98 the upgrade to 2000 has been a troublesome one. If anyone can help me with either of these problems I'd be very appreciative:

    1. The PC always gets to the login screen then resets, it works second time around but it's just annoying. Any ideas?

    2. When connecting to the internet I can't seem to have more than two active browser windows (even if one is in Opera and one IE6) as subsequent ones never load pages. If I have three open then one never opens pages and another one starts to become hit and miss whether it works or not. When I download something my entire bandwidth goes to the download and no browser windows can load pages. So, what's the problem.

    Not really Windows2000 to blame for this one, but has anyone had this problem when downloading the latest IE patches. I'm using IE6 as I said earlier, but last night after downloading and running the patches they wouldn't install and gave the message 'you must be running IE6...etc' (not that exactly but I'm sure you get the picture). Erm, I am though, so what's up there?

    Many Thanks
    Binky

    Maybe low RAM memory, or too many background programs hogging the memory and cpu cycles.

    @750MB of PC2100 RAM on a 1Ghz Athalon.

    On a 450Mhz K6-2/128MB I could load 20+ browser windows without problem, so there's deffinately something up.

    Don't know, but I'd be looking at w2k hardware compatibility. Also, depending on how you connect to the internet, could be a NIC or modem w2k driver problem.
