Atoms are used in Tablets mainly aren't they? 2012 Model Tablet will be traded, dumped after 6 years I would think. The battery is builtin in most of them and that generally requires a factory approved service to renew/replace a battery. This cost would make it a throwaway unit. I have a Lenovo TAB 3 that falls into this category.

They'll most likely be OEM licenses, so no, they can not be transferred.

Does this mean that if I purchase a full icense of Win 10, it can be transferred if my machine gives up or if MS stops supporting my hardware configuration? I am asking this as I have a 7 year old desktop, which is my main computer.

Full version (Retail): Includes transfer rights to another computer.

An upgrade version (Retail) does also have this right, but requires a previous qualifying version of Windows.

The 2nd one would be your option (cheaper than option 1).
