I haven't yet installed Windows 10. I'm wondering, though, since the downloads are ISOs, can they be burned into a DVD and then booted up from the DVD drive? Can I then run Windows 10 from the DVD like those old Linux/Ubuntu ISOs? Or would I have to install the OS onto the hard drive?

You have to burn the image onto DVD to boot.

It needs to be installed on hard disk.
