I am not sure what is going on. My backup laptop I decided to do the upgrade from windows 7 to 10. The 10 failed and would not install. It even had some troubleshooting to try and fix but it would not fix and so I tried to restore it no restore point available. So it wanted to reboot then I get the screen of black death and a flashing cursor and it will just keep automatically keep rebooting itself. So I had my windows 7 disk and so I reinstalled windows 7. It will come up now but it now says I have no drivers for internet wifi no connections available. I need to get a ethernet cord so I can get internet but windows 10 still shows on boot up it asks which one to load each time now. Not sure how to get rid of 10 on boot up any suggestions? Once I get an ethernet I can probably reinstall drivers to get wifi back I hope. I hope this is in the right place if not please move for me thanks.

Hi jenmay. Do you want to stick with using Windows 7 or do you want to perform a clean install of Windows 10?

Windows 10 is still buggy since isn't fully ready yet and you might run into unexpected issues with it so I would wait at least 2-3 more weeks before taking the plunge.

I can see Windows 10 being a decent enough upgrade over Windows 7 once the bugs get fixed but as of right now its not ready for mainstream adoption yet.

Yeah 7 will load up, but I can not get on the internet even with an ethernet connection directly plugged into laptop not sure what has happened. 10 is showing on start up as well. Will try your suggestion to remove 10 from boot up.

You need to install the drivers for your network adapter, motherboard chipset, as well as for your graphics adapter and your audio device. What is the make and model of your laptop?

Go to this link Dell Support Click on Drivers and Downloads or have it scan your machine.

I can't since I can not get online. I am not sure which drivers I need if I knew I could use a flash drive and then put on the laptop. I looked and did not see the ones I needed listed.

Ok that solved one issue the ethernet driver went away as saying it needed a driver. It now needs network controller, pci simple communications controller, and sm bus controller sp still no connectios showing for me to connect.

I guess i just had a blonde moment because I am able to get online with an ethernet cord plugged into my router and now it is online and searching and installing the drivers I need so far still working on that it is taking some time. The only other issue I see is now my computer recovery c is in red for storage. 204mb of 19.5 gb is all that is left never been like that before not sure what is going on with that. Nothing on it since fresh install of windows 7 have not even got google chrome on it yet using IE for the moment. Does the win 10 files need to be removed or something?
