    MasterChief,

Don't get excited yet. Odds are you'll be fine.
A very few (?) problems like this have been reported so far.
The cause is unknown but suspected are faulty or old drivers/hardware.

Appears that the Solution is to do a clean install of Windows 7 or 8 or 8.1
which ever you have, then do the Windows 10.
Some say reformat the HD, do previous install then Windows 10.
A lot of solutions floating around but don't think the real cause of the problem has been defined yet.

Locate and have the Product Key provided by MS to the Insider Preview Program as this will activate W10 if you get the request for activation.
I kept this key myself in case of problems. Neil.

Actually, for the millions who have been upgraded, very few problems have been reported at all.

You can tell this is so by the "lack" of news coverage by all the major broadcasters and cable news outlets. You know if the upgrade was going poorly, the media would be all over it with HUGE sensationalized headlines.

I suspect Microsoft's marketing weenies are sitting there scratching their heads wondering where all the fanfare is for this highly successful rollout? But for news outlets, good news does not make a good story.

    True, Bill.

My install went faultlessly and a good step up.

I was disappoint how long it took on my i3 notebook. After 1 1/2 hours, I went to bed. Fortunately, in the morning, it was done in about 5 minutes.

But with all the Windows Updates in the months before the W10 release date, I expected most of W10 to already be on our systems and there would not be tons of downloading yet to do. But that was not the case. Oh well.

That said, it did not take me long to install Start10 so I could have my good old Windows 7 start menu back. Highly recommended. ClassicShell and StartIsBack are good alternatives.

    I've only had 3 MS Updates applied - KB3074678 - 3074686 - 3081424 plus 9 Defender Definitions and I'm up to date. Neil.
