The end of December 2015 I switched to Windows 10. I had no particular reason for doing this other tan I could. All in all Windows 10 seems to be fine for what I do. The only thing I don't like is the new Start Menu. My needs are simple and I grew up using the old Start Menu. I would like to have it back. I had one hardware problem. Two meg of my ten meg of ram went bad.
Now I am having problems with Internet Explorer 11. I have had this installed since it was first released. My problems appear to be in two areas.
    1. I use the magnifier that is part of the system, I am legally blind. The screen view appears to freeze. In the magnifying window the curser is frozen in place, but I can see the curser move when I move the mouse. I can use the mouse to exit the IE. Sometimes if I wait long enough the system will free up and I can continue. I've had this problem since I first started using the magnifier, release seven I believe. However with release 10 it has gotten worse.
    2. The two weeks IE 10 has become almost impossible to use. The screen freezes and eventually I get a message that the connection to the IE has been lost. I have to exit the IE and re-start the IE, but the problem persists. I have a lap top that is connected via Wi-Fi, and this works fine. I also use Chrome and no have no problems.
Please give me some guidance how I can correct these problems. Just to be sure you understand my level of expertise I know what PC means, but not much more.

Windows 10 should have IE 11 installed not IE 10.

Arie, MrBill, and Evan I have been having a lot of problems with my PC. I would like to blame Win 10, but I think it is more along the line of firmware and/or hardware. The only way to circumvent the problem is by unplugging the PC for a couple of hours and then re-boot. I only received an e-mail from Arie today. I corrected one issue when I started using Edge. I think I'll stay with Edge for now. After reading your suggestions I know it will be awhile before I make any more entries. I will not dare to make any system changes until I get my daughter-in-law to look at some of the changes that you recommended. She speaks better computer than I do; or get one of my 14 year old granddaughters. My last 14 years of work was as a system consultant for IBM. Put a multi million dollar price on the hardware/software and I can do something. A $700.00 PC and no body I can call makes me a coward! For now I will mark this thread as solved.

    Thanks! ! !

This color is very hard to read. And it is small. I had to get closer to the screen to read it. Staying with IE 10 puts you more vunerable to security issues. You need to upgrade to 11 and figure out what is what with it. I guess staying with Edge till she gets there is fine for now.

Bill, Windows 10 already includes IE11 by default just so you know.

I know that. This is from the OP. Didn't know if he rolled back or can even roll back to 10

MrBill, if IE 11 is part of Win 10 I didn't know it. Your description of your problem with IE is one of the problems I was seeing. Going to Edge corrected the problem. Isn't Edge the software intended to be used for the IE with Win 10?

IE is part of Win 10 like it has been in all other versions of windows. Edge is faster because of the lack of Add-Ons. Like a striped down version of a browser. No bells and whistles. Neither of which can be removed from Windows.
