I recently purchased a pre-used Dell Latitude D600, with Windows XP professional installed.

Occasionally, when I’ve needed to restart the computer, when the restart process starts to run, you get a dialog box that says that, WindowName is not responding. I usually just click End Now, and the restart continues successfully. I was just wondering whether there was some reason for this error dialog popping up and is there some manual intervention I can perform that will keep the dialog box from coming up in the future.

    Hello CDobyns,

Is WindowName actually what the message is or is their a name of a process?

If it's a process, you can disable your startups and re enable them one by one to see if it's one of them causing this message.

No, it actually states WindowName is not responding, nothing else.

Then this is a scripting error - java or vbs. One of your processes is calling for a window to open and hangs, and that's about all I can find on this. Still worth going thru your startup processes to find which one is doing this, or it may be windows itself.
