I need help bad with this one!

I'm trying to install Windows XP pro has an upgrade to Windows 98 SE. I'm upgrading in the Windows 98 enviroment and not from DOS since it does not permit me to.

I keep getting the following errors while trying to install.....

An error ocured copying file vga.sys to C:\$Win_NT$-bt\vga.sys

I was given the option to retry or skip, since retry didn't work I tried skipping and was presented with a different error message this time........

An error ocured copying file wmilib.sys to C:\$Win_NT$-bt\wmilib.sys

I tried skipping this files as well.

The installation prompted me to restart. During the restart, I was presented with the following error message....

The file acpi.sys could not be found. Press any key to continue.

I then had to abort the installation.

Can anyone help me with this?? I would reaaly appreciate help with this one.

    Thanks!
    Steve

If XP will not install .
Try using a different HAL, when set up says to press F6 for third party drivers, press F5 and choose standard pc for the type of computer .

Do a clean install. If you can't boot from CD, go and get the boot floppy download from Microsoft. See if there is a bios upgrade for your motherboard and flash it first. All you need to do is stick the 98 CD in during setup to prove you had it ,if the XP cd is an upgrade version.
