If anybody has Window Washer possibly you can answer this

I would like to know if Window Washer is easy to use.

I don't want to go into the registry and do anything in there.

Mainly I would like to clean out old OE items and anything else that is safe to clean out.

    Window Washer Reply

I have been using Window Washer for quite a while. It is very simple to use. Once you install the program, you should be sure to run the settings and tell it what you want to clean (delete). After that, I keep it on the task bar and just right click on it and tell it to "Wash Now." I really like the program.
Once again, be sure the settings tell it what you want cleaned or you may lose something you want to keep!
    Good Luck!

It works great. Only cleans index.dat files when you shut down and reboot. They aren't cleaned right when you run the cleaning process.

IE stores all your surfing "secrets" (web pages you visited, etc) in index.dat files

I can recommend it - use it daily.
It's very simple to use, but read the help file well and take the
good advice on "Options" posted above.
    regards

I use Window Washer, Easy Cleaner, and Diskkeeper Lite to regularly maintain my hard drive. I think I do it every couple of weeks or so.

Some people get obsessed about having every little bit of whatever removed. I just want to keep the hard drive in general operating shape.

I use Window Washer and would recommend it to anybody in a similar position to me, namely anyone with an old system with a small (13GB in my case) hard drive.

The amount of garbage that builds up with regular internet use is truly remarkable and, if I didn't use WW, I would soon run out of space. The program actually automates housekeeping you could do yourself if you had the know how and the time and patience to do it regularly (except, perhaps, for the index dat. cleaning).

There are freeware programs that do some or all of what WW does but I haven't used them so I couldn't recommend one. Also I personally prefer WW V 4.8 to the latest v5.0 but that's just me.
