    Try this:

    1. Close Windows Live Mail
    2. Go to C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\Microsoft, right click on the Windows Live Mail folder and choose restore previous versions
    3. Choose the date prior to when you deleted the account and click Restore
    4. If you make a mistake & choose a wrong date, you can always restore back to a future date (but you should make a backup of your Windows Live Mail folder before you start anyway!)
    5. After you finish the restore, open Windows Live Mail. All your e-mails should be (back) in place

AppData is a hidden folder, so you'll have to either use the address bar to enter \AppData once you've selected your user account, or set Windows explorer to Show hidden files, folders, and drives.

Outlook Express is not compatible with Windows 7 and was superseded by Windows Mail in Vista and then by Windows Live Mail.

If you want an MS based client use Outlook, part of some versions of MS Office or standalone.

Otherwise look for a Win 7 compatible email client ....
