It used to be when I clicked on a hyperlink to an EXE file, I was given the option to run it or save it. Now, if the link is the EXE file, Netscape downloads the whole thing, tries to run it, says it couldn't find the program to run it and then stops.

I am smart enough to go into the TEMP directory and fish it out, but how can I get the option of run or save again?

    Thanks

    Hi JoeBeets,
Well shoot. If this was IE, I'd tell you to go up to tools....internet options, then under the advanced tab, make sure you have the check marks removed under enable install on demand. Does Netscape have something similar?

Perhaps if you asked someone in the Netscape Forum? Or better yet search the archives of past posts for that particular forum. I don't use Netscape but this queston has to have been addressed before just as it has for IE.

If you are unable to find the info after doing such a search, append to post and further help can be given.

Read through this thread if you haven't aready done so. I could be wrong but I think it's related to the norton plugin for netscape.
Do you have Norton Antivirus installed? If so, start by disabling the plugin for Norton in the Norton group in the start menu.

unable to launch application after download
