I have an old Samsung SenS Pro 500 Laptop which I am trying to install Win98 in...I have fdisked, reformatted, and the install begins normally enough, but it halts and tells me that I must disable the Antivirus protection..?? The disk was just fdisked and reformatted... before I started I was also getting a message in the device manager that indicated a problem with either the primary IDE controller or it's driver...I had hoped this was just a driver problem, but am beginning to wonder.. Or alternatively, could this be something in the old firmware that prevents install unless it has something vendor specific answered...I got this machine at a yard sale and have no clue as to its history...

Look in the bios for an anti virus on/off switch.
