Been fighting this dilemma for quite some time. Have an intel 80g SSD and used the DISKPART to completely clean the disk. Followed all the DISKPART comands to clean, partition, assign, etc. (EVGA motherboard, ... computer is but a year old)

Assigned the primary boot in BIOS to the CD drive and booted into my Win7 install disc to install windows. After windows install, I switched back the install priority in the BIOS to the hard disk and it comes up with BOOTMGR missing. Get the continuing circle of Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.

I then have to switch the boot priority back to the CD drive and then when I start up it comes up with "No emulation system type 00 ", but then loads windows normally. I cannot load windows without the disc installed.

I have done a clean install 2 times. I have used the "repair option" a million times though-out the course of this adventure. I have used all the options in the "repair menu" to no avail.

I have been searching the web, forums, etc. for days and trying just about everything conceivable, to get no-where.

I'm really out of patience here and it is very nerve wracking. I really just need to know if I would install a NEW hard drive and purchase a NEW copy of Win7, would my problems be resolved? Or do I have issues in the BIOS?

It just doesn't make sense to me as why after a clean install 2 times, the same issues are occurring.

Thank you so much for an light one can shed.

Thank you much for the article. Gives some good, interesting tips on a working win7 machine using a SSD drive. Which mine is not. There is no advice what-so-ever on repairing my problems. And YES, my BIOS is set-up correctly for the SSD.

Thanks anyway though for taking the time to share.

The first line of your thread implies an SSD drive :)

What I meant was the whole crux of the article is on a WORKING with no issues SSD win7 computer. The article is about making sure you're getting the MOST out of your SSD.

My computer is not WORKING. YES, I have the SSD, but have the issues described above.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding.

After much reading and reading, found where it was advised to unplug any additional hard drives when loading windows to the SSD drive. Even though the SSD drive was identified as the drive win7 was loading to, it was actually loading it to the other platter drive.

Even in the BIOS with identifying the correct drives in the correct order, it was loading to the platter drive and not the SSD drive.

I disconnected the platter drive, booted to Win7 through the disc, did the "repair windows" and formatted the SSD drive. Reloaded Win7 and everything works flawlessly.

Plugged in the platter drive and it was recognized with no issues.

Using the above post offered by PeteC and followed the SSD tweaks to keep the drive working harmoniously.

I thank you for your time and effort and hope in the future I can help someone solve their issue. There is not too much out there about unplugging any additional drive BEFORE loading windows on your SSD.
