I was looking at running Windows 7 on an older Gateway P4 3.2Hz PC with plenty of HD space, 2 GB Ram, and a HD 46670 1GB GPU on PCIe, but Windows 7 Advisorsays my Graphics won't support Aero? The VISTA version of the advisor showed everything OK, and I was running an HD4550 card then.

Would like to move the PC to 7 from XP SP2, but????

Maybe this is a driver problem?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

The lack of support for Aero does not mean that you cannot run Windows 7 - it is only a fancy graphics interface which I have currently disabled.

I doubt it is a driver problem - Win 7 Upgrade Advisor would have indicated if a driver update was required - more likely the hardware is not compatable.

No harm in checking our the manufacturer's web site for Win 7 dtivers.

Thanks, but I realize that part. I would think it would on a 915 chip and GPU, if not flagged by the Vista advisor.
