I tried it all different ways, the boot disks, booting from the cd, and running setup from Win98.

I'm trying to get a clean install on another HD and run a dual boot system.

Everything seems to go fine until, I choose the disk I want 2k to be installed (E:), it then checks the integrity of E:, then C:. It goes through the progress bar 100%, the progress bar goes away, and it still says checking C:...

That's it, it just stops doing anything. I've let it sit for 3 hours and it does nothing.

I can't figure it out, all my HD's are in good order, and there's plenty of room on both C and E.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you using an original CD or a burned copy? Sometimes they are bad and just won't complete the install.

The original, but I used partition magic to split my #3 drive into E and F. Another guy told me that doing that causes problems with the boot record or something, and I'll have to low level format the whole drive. I'm not willing to do that since I have 20 gigs of stuff that I can't move anywhere else.

    W2K instal just stops

What motherboard chipset are you using - there were several issues like that with the early athlon boards - so much so that in some training materials M$ stated that W2K was only intended for intel based systems.
