    I am trying to install some software and it tells me windows installer can not be accessed or it is missing...how or were do i find it to reinstal it?

    Goto microsoft webiste and search for windows installer. you can download it from there

    win installer

    thanks for the site..but..lol.. it wont let me install it for some reason..should i try running it through the command promt?:(

    Did you get the one from Here or maybe the version for 9X which won't work with NT systems.

    Did you download it and try the install from your PC? Often times the "Run from current location" option doesn't work nearly as well.

    error!

    error creating prosses<C:\Documents and settings\ "name "\Local settings\Temp\lXP001.TMP\msiinst.exe/i instmsi.msiMSIEXECREG=1 /m /qb+!>. Reason: INDOWS\system32advpack.dll

    that is the error message i get...registry probs perhaps?

    I think you must have a registry glitch of some sort. Recovery console and a registry repair is one option. Booting with a restore point from before the problem started is another if you have a suitable restore point.

    For recovery console use, look Here.

    The process will be lots easier if you created an Emergency Repair Disk (ERD) in the recent past.
