    Hello,

I just got my win 2003 enterprise server up and wanted to test terminal services. I created a couple of test users in the administrator group of the local server and verified the proper access for terminal server logon BUT, I get a message saying "you do not have access to logon session. I am not running the licence server yet but I should have 120 days to get that running. Is this still a licence issue?

    Thanks

Did you configure Remote Desktop or the actual termianl services? For Remote desktop, you can configure up to 2 administrative users to access your server. You configure this through the properties sheet of My Computer.
For Terminal Services, you install it through add/remove programs. YOu will need to add in a license server to your domain controller and purchase licenses from MIcrosoft. YOu do get a time period to access a terminal server w/o license, you just get annoying error messages.

    Thanks for the reply.
I added terminal services thru the manage your server wizard. I verified that my users have the allow user to logon to terminal services. I noticed in the terminal services configuration applet that there is a licence option of per user and per device. If I set it to per device, I get the message about no licence server is available even before the terminal server logon pops up. On per user, I can authenticate but then get my original message and get booted out.

Check your AD user properties for terminal services. You may not have the right to logon to a terminal service session selected.
