Resolved win10 upgrade disk

    I have a win 10 upgrade disk from win 8.1 or win7, will this still be good after july 16
    when they stop free download.

    the thing is, you need to have upgraded your computer to windows 10 and have it activated. after that you have a "digital entitlement" and can reinstall it at any time.
    Your computer is your mother board. if you replace it, all bets are off, you may be able to call MS and they will give you a code to activate, but don't count on that.

    Actually you can get the free Windows 10 upgrade until July 29, 2016. Did the upgrade disk come with the computer. I just bought a Dell Inspiron 5559 and it came with Windows 7 Pro preinstalled and a Windows 10 Pro License and Disk. According to Dell I can use the disk as many times as I want as long as it is only used on the above named Dell machine. I installed Windows 10 Pro on a separate Hard Disk Drive and I swap the drives between Win 7 Pro and Win 10 Pro.
