   I am running win98 and just purchased winxp..before install can anyone tell me if I will lose any software after install. I realize that some drivers will have to be re-loaded...but just wondered if all my data and prgrams will be safe....

   You shouldn't lose your data. Some programs designed just for Win98 may not work.
