How do you delete the searched files which come up under the Search Function? If you select Start>Search...when you search "all files and folders" if the first letter of a file has been input previously, it will pop up all files previously searched starting with that letter. This is what I want to get rid of.

    AceH--
    Taken from another post
"Click Start, Search, and on the first window that comes up will have the option, Change preferences
Choose this and on the next screen you'll have the option,
    Turn AutoComplete off
Exit the application when finished. "
Now I do not know if this clears past entries or just prevents new ones, since I did not try it--not wanting to lose the entries I have.
But here is a small program that should clear the past if the above does not do it.

Hope this is the right "Search ", since of course there are two of them, one in Windows and one in IE.
    You could also consider IE Tools|Internet Options|Content tab|AutoComplete|Clear Forms|OK|OK.

    AceH,

Consider getting the freeware search utility AgentRansack and you'll have a better go of it. Dumping the history list is one of it's readily accessible options. It's far, far, superior to the XP search tool in all respects, especially speed and accuracy.
