Win XP Printer Problem

    My niece has a HP Photosmart 1115 printer connected to a parallel port. The printer installs fine using the CD that came with the printer, test page prints fine, web pages print fine, etc. Shutting down and restarting and then trying to print brings up the message "printer not found ", and the printer must be reinstalled in order to use it. Does anyone have any idea what causes this behavior?

    The drivers that come with the printer are pretty much always out of date by the time you buy the device.

    Step 1 would be to get the latest drivers and install them.
