Shouldn't any ISP's have their modem connection listed here? I have a new HP notebook, P4, 2.4ghz system. I'm new with XP. The only thing listed in NETWORK CONNECTIONS is Local area connection, 1394 Connection(Net Adaptor) and Network Bridge 2. Dial up appears with JUNO, ONLY when I'm online . In fact JUNO only shows up in the INTERNET OPTIONS MENU (dialup box) when online.

My interest in Firewall settings is because NORTON INTERNET SECURITY wants it disabled via the Network Connections, selecting NETWORK TASKS. I can't find this option so I can not find an Internet Connection Firewall Section. I can not get to these XP Firewall settings using XP Help menus either.

I have also installed PROPEL ACCelerator software by USADATANET to speed up my internet connection($4.95/MTH). If I uninstall it, JUNO/IE6.0 can't read web pages at all, so I've reinstalled the Accelerator program to fix that problem. I think there is a link between my IE6.0 setup and NETWORK CONNECTIONS. Help!!

Open Control Panel, Network Connections, right click on the connection you are using (or LAN) and choose "properties ", then advanced. You can enable or disable XP's built in firewall from there.

    **Note to other people:
Do NOT disable this firewall if you have no other Internet Security installed and enabled. It's not a lot of protection, but it's better than nothing.

Thanks- it worked but only because I was online while I attempted to access. Why isn't this dial up connection available while off line? Is it because of the way JUNO performs dial up?

Thanks again for your quick reply!!
