having any win OS and planning to install the Win XP (either Home or Pro), is it possible to use the Win 98 starup disk, fdisk, format and clean install of XP ?

If this procedure is ok, is it possible to use the win 98 startup disk on other OS's as well (at the moment i am planning to completely remove Win ME and make a clean install of XP Home)

    Thanks for your help!

It is - but why bother? - simply boot from your XP CD and follow the on screen instructions for a new install rather than an upgrade. Do a FULL format rather than quick.
    See Windows XP Clean Install

Note you must set up the boot order in BIOS to CD/A/HD
