    Hello,

My apologies if this is an obvious question but I'm not too used to Win NT, Guess my age is a factor there!

Im trying to install the graphics driver for a Dell Optiplex GXa (yes its an old system and only has a license for NT and no 2k ones drifting about free at the moment so im stuck with it :( )

What is happening is when i try to install the driver through display properties i am getting a message a bit into the installtion saying the following:

"The drivers were not successfully installed. You may not have the required privileges to install a new driver. "

I have tried installing them as both the local admin account and also the domain admin account so I should have plenty of rights.... but NT doesn't think i do :(

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this and if so how to resolve it as ive been trying to figure this out all day and the user really needs their computer back by the end of the day.

    System specs are:

    Make: Dell
    Model: Optiplex GXa
    RAM: 256MB
Graphics Card: On board ATI Rage Pro
    HDD: 4GB
CPU: Pentium something or other running at 300Mhz
OS: Windows NT 4.0 running service pack 6a

The system is also on a domain and no other software is installed yet so pretty much a clean system other then I have upgraded IE to latest version with a few company settings (Locked down homepage etc)

No need to worry guys, I figured it out.

The graphics card had disabled itself in the Devices section in the control panel! Odd thing to happen but either ways is working.

Thanks for your time and hopefully this will help someone else out who comes across this.
