Long ago, when I invoked Windows Explorer, it would automatically display all folders on my hard drive, plus of course the other components. Anyway, a while back, for no discernable reason, it started displaying a subset of folders starting with the "Documents and Settings" folder, ending with all subdirectories in that folder, so that now I have to click on the +'s to expand the listing to see all folders, and I would like to see all folders initially.

I have looked under the pull down menus and did not note where this could be accomplished. Rather than continue to plod around in the Windows jungle, thought maybe someone out there might already know how to resolve this...

Not sure how you're opening explorer but if you right click the shortcut and click on properties you can set the folder or drive that you want it to open to by editing the Target line.

To open at the C: drive with all of the main folders below it would look something like this:

    C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE /n,/e,C:\

Thanks for the info, but I tried it, with no change.

I should have mentioned that I have Win XP, and it appears that XP uses something different, like in the "target" they have %SystemRoot%explorer.exe already preloaded....
